Dental Benefit Plans A dental benefit plan helps you pay for the cost of your dental care. Generally, a dental benefit plan is a contract between your employer, or plan sponsor, and a third party (i.e.. An insurance company). These contracts vary widely. There are many ways in which dental plans are designed and how reimbursement levels are determined. You need to know how your dental plan is designed -- and its limitations. Your dental plan is designed to share in your dental care costs. It may not cover the total cost of your bill. Most plans cover 50 - 80% of dental services. You may not understand a reimbursement level on your bill. If so, you are not alone. Ask us at North Idaho Smiles to help explain commonly misunderstood features of your dental plan such as annual maximums, preferred providers, least expensive alternative treatment, preexisting conditions and exclusions. A Word About Finances Our mission is to deliver the finest, most cost effective health care treatment today. Following diagnosis, we will advise you of our plan for treatment. Additionally, we will discuss with you the cost of treatment. Payments are due at the time of treatment. If you have dental insurance, we will file the claim for you at no additional charge and you will be reimbursed by your insurance company. If you would like us to accept assignment of benefits, we will ask that you leave major credit card information with us and we will bill your card for any charges not covered by your insurance. A fee will be charged for appointments not canceled with a 24-hour notice and there is a $25 service charge for any checks returned to us by the bank. We are sensitive to the fact that some people may not be able to pay cash at the time of treatment; therefore, we offer an extended monthly payment plan for your convenience. PFS and Healthcare Credit line are separate lines of credit which do not affect the balances of your other credit cards. There are no annual fees and the first 90 days are interest free. Six and 12 month interest free options are available, however certain limitations apply. Minimum monthly payments are 3% of your balance or $20, which ever is greater. For example, a balance of $700 requires a payment of only $21. A credit application is required for this payment option, and is available at our office. Other payment options are available. Please contact our office for details. |
